Kult of Red Pyramid (or in short KORP), was formed in 2008., by Ivan Rogar and Josip Fackovic. The duo is present in many domestical music projects since 1993, and is involved in independent film production, from 2007. KORP's genre evolution:
2008-2010 - doom/experimental/drone/industrial
2010-2012 - electronic dance music/EBM/industrial
2012-present - post-rock/art-rock
HISTORY: The first album, 'Dark Red Light', an 8 track set of songs, mostly made of danceable electronic music, which marked the further progression of where the band is going, was released independently through iTunes worldwide in June 2010. The album was remastered in 2012 and it's now a free download on the official website. Since then, the duo's been working hard on the next, more progressive, harsh & heavier sounding 'Void Zero', which was released Feb 13th, 2012.
In February 2011, guest vocals from 'dreDDup' and Claus Larsen 'Leaetherstrip' were announced, to perform on certain songs from 'Void Zero', resulting in brand new songs [BLUDGEONPIPE], 'Corrosion Demonstration' and 'Devil' to be made, which set off another change in sound and production. None of the arranged vocalists did record their materials in the end.
As for filmwork, Fackovic and Rogar have independently funded, produced and shot the feature postapocalyptic thriller 'VEKTOR' in 2010., for which they also scored the entire original soundtrack.
On October 14th, 2011., KORP was picked up by a Russian-based label "Glory & Honour Records", which released the album "VOID ZERO" on February 13th, 2012.
Rogar and Fackovic published their ambient/orchestral works made in 2011 under the name "SHINREI PROJECT". The album name was "LAST SONGS ON EARTH" and it was published through iTunes,Amazon and Spotify.
Their straight-up harsh EBM set of songs was published under the name "VOID.INJECT". It's EP "GODFUCKERS" is still freely downloadable on the website and many other industrial/EBM sites in the world. It gained positive reaction in the scene and the scene media.
In May 2012, the project was shutdown, with an announcement posted on the official Facebook page, due to simply said, "global lack of respect" and "the meaningless existence of the stale electronic industrial scene without any true & real fandom in it's roots".
In August 2012, KORP was reactivated, but now completely dismissed the electronic/industrial scene and therefore the era of album "VOID ZERO". The album "MALICE AND CORRUPTION" was also announced, that promised venture into ambient/drone/experimental/post-rock genres and merging back with the side-project "SHINREI PROJECT".
In July 2012, Ivan Rogar announced his solo EP "ANGEL BLOOD", which is set for release 2012/2013.
Through this time, the Croatian alter-ego "CALEB [UNIT]" emerged out of nowhere, with one complete song "NIKAD NIJE KASNO" (It's never [too] late) made public, and announced the album "01 AFTERLIFE".
Rogar and Fackovic have done lots of other works in 2012. The singles "IGNORER", "STACHELDRAHT", "LEAVE IT ALONE", just to mention a few.
One thing's for sure, KORP's future holds the return to melancholy and deep atmosphere.
