Los Pacaminos, the acclaimed Americana group featuring Paul Young, one of the UK’s finest and best loved vocalists, are delighted to announce that they will release a live album entitled ¡VIVA! on 2 November 2018 on CD and Digital formats via the band’s own label Recado Records through Right Track distributed by Universal Music Operations. ¡VIVA! was recorded at a particularly raucous sold out show at The Warehouse in Harrogate late last year and features a guest spot from Chris Difford; this is the band’s third album.
The seven piece band have been performing regularly up and down the country for over 25 years and are a simply phenomenal live act The focus for Los Pacaminos, as Paul himself says, is on good music and good times. "For the last 25 years, this 'sideline band project' has grown and grown and attained a life of its own. Far from something that was supposed to fizzle out after a couple of years of fun, we have achieved a sound of our own, influenced initially by the sounds of Texas and Mexican Conjunto, or ‘Tejano’, but growing into something greater. Yes, the band was started just to have some fun playing a vibrant music, but now this sound of the Southwest has seduced us, and the fans that come to see us. We would like to give thanks to those fans and friends, and those that travel vast distances; the fans that get what we get from playing our songs, which is happiness and a celebration of life. ¡VIVA! Los Pacaminos!”
Featuring incredible vocal harmonies, guitars, bajo sexto, mandolin, pedal steel, bass and drums, Los Pacaminos pack a serious South of the Border punch! These guys have played with the best in the business- Queen, Tom Jones, Robbie Williams, First Aid Kit and many, many more - ¡VIVA! captures Los Pacaminos doing what they do best, and loving every second of it. Chris Difford is a long time friend of the band and he just couldn’t resist joining in. He said, “I really enjoyed being on stage with the Pacs, such lovely people and so much fun, Doing what I christened ‘Tex Me I’m Yours’ was one of the best moments of the year for me, it was like being on stage with my trousers half way down. I felt the support of Paul and his players right from the first note. It’s so lovely to be involved in this live recording, I don't often get asked, but I’m glad that I was.”
