As if from an obscure, smoke filled club emptying at 3am, the machines left behind by an exhausted DJ continue their cause yet without the restraints of time, filling the cavernous space with what could be labeled as dub techno until sunrise. Sojourn in Canaan features lengthy permutations of one thematic concept stemming from the mindset of perhaps dub house combined with ambient techno. Influences such as Yagya, Convextion or Salz may be apparent due to a subliminal archive that exists in the mind though nothing specific is being emulated. Included is an especially extensive remix by Coppice Halifax who certainly needs no introduction.
This mammoth project offers around 3 hours of spacious dub infested anthems for your enjoyment.
About the cover photo:
Photographer Jane Eyre captured this serene range of low mountains called The Vosges, stretching across a border between Germany and France. The drifty fog infested treeline seemed very appropriate for the hiss filled bed that underscores this work.
