Странно что группу вообще не слышал хорошая ведь. Вокал по интонации и манере пения на Paul Rodgersa конечно сильно смахивает. Всем любителям классического Hard Rock поcлушать обязательно очень качественно.

Сняли с языка. Я тоже не слышал ничего об этой группе, но этот альбом купил в десятых. Вчера ревизию делал, мусор выбрасывал. Поставил это альбом и сразу услышал голос Пола Роджерса с винила Bad company с игральными костями:). Других с Роджерсом просто не слушал. Ровный качественный хард рок, я себе его оставил. Других альбомов не слушал, в принципе мне и этого достаточно. Девять!

New albums by this excellent rock band from Nashville are few and far between - that's why the announcement of a new release by Cold Truth is a day of celebration for their die-hard fans around the world. The time has come: After an eight-year break this modern retro/hard/blues/classic rock band is back with their third album, Grindstone. Cold Truth manage to transfer the genre's values into a present-day sound like very few current bands.

Cold Truth are a powerfully rocking quartet from Nashville, TN. Their unadulterated, no-frills sound carries the direct punch of early 70s (hard) rock. That's clearly the tradition these four musicians are steeped in but they have enough talent and creativity to build their own brand of rock'n'roll with crunchy riffs, meaty hooks and an earthy foundation in the blues. Kurt Menck (lead, rhythm & slide guitars), Thane Shearon (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Abe White (bass) and Matt Green (drums) share the same set of influences and follow their musical path with great passion. The band started at the turn of the century and has stayed together without personnel changes. A world class shouter, an energetic rhythm section and a versatile guitarist who can draw from rock and blues - Cold Truth!

After their self-titled debut album from 2003 and their international breakthrough Do Whatcha Do from 2008 we are now experiencing the band on the zenith of their career so far. Like its predecessors Grindstone was produced by veteran Michael St. Leon (George Thorogood, Buddy Guy, Jim Suhler, Karl Gaffney, Murali Coryell) at Nashville's Switchyard Studios. Cold Truth play classic rock with a dose of hard'n'heavy and blues - suited not just for nostalgic music lovers but for any rock'n'roll aficionado in 2016!

If you are looking for influences or parallels, Shearon's raspy voice leads to British 70s hard rock. Free and Bad Company with their singer Paul Rodgers are obvious reference points, Whitesnake with David Coverdale and Humble Pie with Steve Marriott have also left their mark. In other songs Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sammy Hagar's Montrose, the Black Crowes or even AC/DC shine through.

The opener "Livin' Hard" sets the path for what's to follow: pure, simple, straight-ahead rock music. With its hammering rhythm and twin lead guitar part "Where The Music Takes Me" ramps up the excitement. Song #3, "No Sleep Til Sturgis", is set to become one of the band's signature songs with its shout-out to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rallye and a nod to Steppenwolf's "Born To Be Wild". "Leave Your Leather On" cannot be misunderstood and the same is true of the title track with its key phrase "get your nose to the grindstone".

After a number of rocking songs by main songwriters Menck & Shearon containing dashes of Sothern rock and blues rock, allusions to life on the road, highways and abandoned dreams, Cold Truth come to the end of this dynamic album. Bekka Bramlett (daughter of Delaney & Bonnie) is a powerful guest vocalist on the driving "Give It Time". And "Free Man", a 6-plus-minute power ballad is a hymn-like album closer with a beautiful string arrangement by Chris Carmichael - a worthy finish. Cold Truth are the real deal!
