Story of the Songs :
Beetlejuice,
I was 8 years when i saw this. At that precise moment in my life, i
discovered the true magic of muzik because, i had a rather unfamiliar
experience. Remember when ''Day-o'' begins, in the dark, scary singing
comes and then...BANG! Close-up of the town. There happened my very
first chill. I told myself: ''What's this weird thing in my spine''?
I rewinded the tape and it happened again. I Understood that muzik
can be so much fun!
Magic Dance,
Aaaaaaah...that incredibly imaginative movie : ''Labyrinth''. It is
simply a marker for every kid born in the 80's. And who doesn't
Remember David Bowie's Fucking package! Playing with balls! That's
very traumatizing...
Never Ending Story,
A very personnal movie. To tell the truth to every one of you, this is
the story of my life. My mother died hitten by a lightning in 1985,
the same year the movie got out. The name of the boy is Bastien,
i'm named Sйbastien and his mother also died. Plus, his father looked
EXACTLY like mine, except with brown hair and eyes. He came one day,
with the tape of Never Ending Story, and told me : ''I got a very
special movie for you, it's gonna help you''.
I was 5 years old and it's one of the rare things i remember at
that time. That movie thought me that the only thing that's real
sometimes is your imagination.
I Still believe that today.
Pale Shelter,
The video was simply a lot for a kid my age (4 or something) with
the lady diving into a pool with a crocodile. I also felt pain for
the guy that got a paper-plane in his eye. Plus, It's a damn good song!
Sadness,
I learned when i wanted to do the remix that the song is called like
that. Strangely, my father grounded me for some reason and he put that
song on. I was bout 7 years old and since then, i was putting that song
when i wasn't feeling well. It's a beautiful one and i remember that
when it got out, it was a major hit and the video was in the top 10
on TV. I did the remix on St-Jean Baptiste Day for some reason. For
those out there who don't know, St-Jean Baptiste is the official
Quйbec's celebrating day. Everyone gets fucking wasted and even vomit
in the streets and the party goes on with huge events, the biggests
in the whole year, even Christmas. I was alone, drank one beer and
did the remix...maybe i'm not too proud of being Quebecer, neither
am i of being human sometimes...
Well, i hope you enjoy and that you learned a little
something. ;0)
