Once eyes wide open Arms strong with youthful hunger A purpose to stride defiantly Yearning for sense and might Armed with steel and trust Bloodhound brethren in sight To strike the eternal Worm Hydra of a thousand lies And yet, when silence dies And the class of swords resounds When strife and pain embrace The haughty oaths are all but spent Mere words swept by winds Their hasty flight to herald their cowardice The stench of fear and greed Wretched spawn of a rotten seed I walked and walked for leagues Through the forests and heaths From blackest caves to thrones of oak The Crown of Pan over the hills... A toilful voyage through darkness To behold the triumph of infamy Honor, valour, pride Lost wisdom left in the mire...
