Japanese Rock band comprised of lead vocalist and guitarist 岩沢正美 (Masami Iwasawa), bassist 阿部 元 (Abe Moto), guitarist and vocalist 遠藤ナオキ (Naoki Endou) and drummer 宮崎喜生 (Kinama Miyazaki). The band was formed in Tokyo, Japan in 2000, was initially started as somewhat of a pop rock band, gradually building up a fan-base through repeated live performances.
The band progressed through their initial pop-rock phase to become somewhat contemporary and predominantly rock based throughout their rigorous tour schedule releasing several singles and mini-albums before eventually releasing their second major album “不等式とその解” or “Inequality and the Solution” in 2007.
Although there are several names for the group, only one name is correct due to the literal translation of the name and official merchandise which documents the group’s name correctly as “Hoover’s Ooover”. Other variations such as “Hoover’s Over” and “Hoover Over” are incorrect due to either mistranslation of the band name, which is intentionally spelled with three letter “o” ‘s at the beginning.
During their various tours, the group was featured on the British television show, “ Adam and Joe go Tokyo” which ran for a brief period on BBC THREE, documenting various aspects of Japanese culture in a comedic fashion, playing out each show with a Japanese artist. Presenters on the show commented on the band and the claims that lead singer, Masami-san is able to sing incredibly fast with lyrical precision. The band played their song “コレクション” or “Collection”, which featured the fast past lyrics mentioned by presenters Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish and was aired on 11 July, 2003.
