Life Records was incorporated in Malaysia in 1949 and it is still operating till today with a track record of more than 42 years in the music industry. On the other hand, Life Record Industries Pte Ltd was established in 1966 and Life Records Limited in Hong Kong was set up in 1960.Life Records was the first regional licensee for renowned foreign labels such as CBS, MCA and KAPP in the early 60’s. Since the early 70s, Life Records was already producing albums for famous Chinese singers like Teresa Teng, Frances Yip and many more. Today, Life Records reigns as the premier name in the Asian region for possessing one of the largest repertoire of Chinese or Mandarin pop, classical, folk, traditional, drama, opera and children's songs. Some of the artistes under Life’s patronage include mega artistes like Teresa Teng, Lee Yee, Yu Yar, Wong Shiau Chuin, Ching San, Cheng Kam Cheong and so much more Other than this, Life Records is also one of the largest distributors and licensees of Indonesian recordings of popular artistes like Letto, Seventeen, Hetty Koes Endang, Broery Marantika, Emillia Contessa, D'Lloyd, Endang S. Taurina, Rhoma Irama and many more. Life Records’ distribution network does not just cover Malaysia but span across the Asia regions which include Brunei, Singapore, Indonesian, Thailand, Philippines, Japan, Hong Kong and Mainland China. |
